Asheville, NC – February 21, 2008 – Palmer Wahl Instruments Inc. Palmer Wahl has won the “Exceptionally Innovative Business Award” for 2007! The award was presented on February 20^th 2008 at the Grove Park Inn during the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, “We’re For Business” Awards Luncheon.

This award is presented to a company that has discovered consumer needs and, through creative innovation, has been able to meet those needs.

Palmer Wahl won because of our work in the following areas:

1. Fever Alert Imaging System developed to measure skin temperature and sound alarm if a person has a fever. This is useful in the threat of a Pandemic such as Bird Flu. 

2. New Patent Pending Digital RTD Thermometer being developed for the Food Processing Industry to replace Mercury in Glass Thermometers. The FDA will be allowing “Alternative Temperature Indicating Devices” to be used in lieu of MIG Thermometers.

3. New Thermal Imaging Cameras added to the product line in order to pursue the growing field of temperature imaging.

4. New Calibration Equipment added to our product line in order to provide products and services to help our customers maintain product accuracy and meet ISO and other regulatory requirements.

5. Sales office in Moscow, Russia, opened in Fall 2007 to serve the growing Russian market.

6. Joint venture in China, established in order to pursue Infrared Technology to be sold in China and around the world.

7. Wireless Temperature Monitoring System developed to reduce energy usage by 10%.

8. Redesigned our thermometer used on the F-16 fighter planes to expand the range to allow for the higher temperatures experienced in the Middle East.

9. Established a Solar Energy Company to pursue the ever growing Alternative Energy market.
